Listen carefully and forget spreading your covid scaremongering for a minute they quoted percentages of who were at little risk they did the same near the start of the supposed pandemic and they were right , remember boris‘s scientists also quoted the same at the start that over 80% would only be mildly to moderately effected they knew this to be the case but still damaged all of society . Just think if you had listened to the scientists who were saying this from early on you would have protected the vulnerable more and done much less damage to the entire population and the economy but instead what you have now done is cause even more suffering and death .
I have listened carefully, and I have also listened carefully to the earlier interview. Reading the letter and other papers written by the interviewee early in the pandemic (and some of his work before 2020), it is evident his views echoed the views of several academics at the time. They based their opinion on SARS-CoV-1, MERS, and the coronaviruses that are very familiar. Not enough about the novel aspect of SARS-CoV-2 was known to be quite so blasé. Unfortunately, antivaxxers pounced on everything they could lay their hands on to further their ideologies (plural, because all manner of alternative truths organisations and alliances are actively involved), and shared inaccuracies far and wide. This led to governments making bad decisions for their citizens. Brazilians died because their arrogant president chose to follow the theory of do nothing, it will all blow over. Swedes died because someone in their government thought that some sort of light touch was all that was needed, and made a persuasive case. Laissez-faire has terrible consequences in a pandemic.

The majority of scientists who felt that SARS-CoV-2 would travel along a predictable route saw early on that SARS-CoV-2 is different. Very different. They looked to the scientific reports and data, and changed their minds. A Herculean effort from thousands of scientists across the world was made to make vaccines to protect against this novel virus. In the meantime, strong measures were brought in to curb its spread, and to do the best possible to keep national health services from being overwhelmed. The only scaremongering was from the far right ~ Trump and his cultists, the group of charlatans and quacks identified as the Disinformation Dozen, aided and abetted by Russian bots hell bent on undermining Western democracies.

Scientists change their minds in the light of new, credible, evidence. Thousands of scientists understand SARS-CoV-2 far better than in 2020, and there are now proven, safe, effective vaccines and treatments that are saving lives, and mitigating against long covid. Stadler might once have been a scientist, but no longer.

Almost every link you provide stems from the loop of algorithms linking conspiracy theorists (and worse), quacks, and charlatans to others of that ilk. They make money from appealing to people's susceptibilities. They undermine democracies. Sadly, some people become their useful fools. You don't read as though you are a fool. You are read as concerned for others, meticulous, and careful with details. Please find time to read about covid more widely. One good thing about the algorithms in search engines and youtube is that you can thrash them hard to break conspiracy feedback loops without doing any damage to them. Give yours a damned good dthrashing 🙂

We've covered this about ten times by my estimation. You're still banging a drum that makes no sense.

The covid war was popular, that's why it happened, people got richer and the government became more popular.
The virus was as deadly as it needed to be...i.e. just enough to stay at home

Russian bots or Chinese bots who of those 2 tried the hardest to undermine western democracies one of them even forced the WHO to spread its message take note how the message flip flopped as time went by.
We are all fools at different points in our lives that’s part of being human.
The people talking out at the start from the science community against the narrative were not antI vax quite the opposite they quickly worked out from for example the diamond princess cruise ship that covid wasn’t as deadly to the general public as made out that was real science not the modelling nonsense we were bombarded with.

Ahh that cruise ship, yes, at that point, pretty obvious to anyone who wanted to see it that covid was not a severe public health issue.

It says "Provocative new series". It's in the Daily Mail/ Mail on Sunday ... 🤔 . What does the article actually say? Would you be kind enough to let us see, please?
Didn’t read it it is an example of what happens as the evidence against what has been the one narrative falls apart it’s happened many times throughout history tho , every piece of media was reporting the same narrative which is helped by the government advertising budgets and the level of fear but overtime the holes start to be picked in the narrative as the flaws are exposed and the collateral damage starts to emerge .

Got my second booster today, thankful for it.

Good friends of ours yesterday all came down with Covid, young family of three, husband is asthmatic and getting anti viruals.

Covid isn’t just another flu or cold virus, how many times does a young family all together come down with the flu in late June and one forty year old man requires medication ?

It was a Nuevo virus, which as I understand it means “new” as in “unknown”. Did we over react ? Maybe. But doctors don’t like seeing grammas die and they certainly didn’t want to be seen a year later sayin’ : “Well shoot, we should have taken that a little more seriously.”

As tough as it was, I’m glad the precautions were taken. Hard to walk back a medical decision, best to err on the side of caution. We donated our Covid relief funds to a couple local restaurants and a community food bank that suffered from the shutdown much more than we did.

Only because you don’t want to hear it you still want to pretend everyone was at serious risk fortunately places like Sweden proved the majority wrong

I don't care a fudge what Sweden did. The UK government only did what it had to be try to minimise the number of deaths which would have been political dynamite. As it stood I think the UK got away quite lightly- if people had been infected to the extent that the NHS was running out of oxygen/ventilation equipment and having to let people die for want of these, it would have been bad news.

"Overwhelmed in three weeks" ? Yada yada, nonsense piled on nonsense, same headlines in 2018.
Sweden's was an overreaction too imo
Put your mask back on if it's so serious
