Whilst I am happy to criticise RT, I am not going to criticise their inspectors - speak as you find - Ive dealt with several over the years and I have yet to meet one (male or female) that wasnt pleasant and helpful. Most understood the feeling against RT, most agreed with our grievances. Ive obviously been luckier than a lot of you but thats my experience.
I used to have an older gentleman that I got on well with, who was very helpful.
since he retired the young farmers wife that comes has pushed me to the limit with her pettiness and jobs worth attitude .

Had a minsups rep come in the front of the parlour one morning,, I was at the back and could smell him before I could see him 😂😂😂
Wasn’t me was it? I had a stint at Minsups a long time ago now. The car smelled lovey, due to the sample blocks we carried around . That lovely molasses smell.😂

Grain men are stuck with it to a certain point but the dairy men have a gun to their heads, if rt does get disbanded what comes next? Is it better the devil you know we need a union that will speak for us all an play hardball with rt to mold them into what we want it to be
If everyone stood up and said ime out they would be finished overnight

Do you have the same inspector each year @neilo ? That’s were it changed for me, the last chap I knew and he would explain things and get me through it. The new one just sat there barking at me for different bits of paper.

It was a new one this time, although he’d been doing it for years I think. Prior to that, it had been the same one since I rejoined a few years ago, but she’s left. Somebody did tell me the other day that they were glad she had as she’d been far too officious, but I never found that at all.

Tbh, and maybe I’ve been lucky, but I only ever remember one FA inspector who I’d have happily have seen fall in the slurry pit.😡 He worked for Dairy Crest, back in the days that dairies did their own audits.
Most have just been doing their jobs.

At my inspection Hitler wanted to know about our waste. I had no issue showing him a ticket for waste chemical cans which we take for recycling but he also wanted to know about waste pallets and plastic generated from industrial lets. Told him it was none of his business and he did not like it one bit and said that in the future RT would be looking at complete farm business's including diversifications that are based within the farm yard. Told him in no uncertain terms that if that happened I would not be requiring RT's services.

Thanks

That's the one.

"If provided" is the key wording.

"Sell" them the accommodation and it does away with that standard.

Got two friends who both run farm shops and both have dumped RT this year. Both said RT was getting to pushy with regards to the farm shop so with a bit of change to their business's RT is long gone. One of them had a visit from Customs and also Food health and he is adamant RT reported him.
Anyway they both are feeding grain to their own animals which are sold through the farm shop and any surplus grain they are selling to neighbours at £2/tonne under the market price on the day then the neighbours are selling it as RT assured. Stupid thing is the grain merchants are happy to collect it from a farm address that has no RT number.

Its all falling apart slowly for RT because if they loose the grain merchants which appears to be happening then that them done.
