To be fair Welshpool has a good range of lambs from top end Texel Beltex to plain Welsh esp. from now on so I'd say it was a good trade. It would be interesing to know how many ditch Dunbia and send live over the next few days. They do seem very keen to pull prices back over the last few months, do you know who they supply now? Used to be Co-op and Sainsburys did it?
I would think theyl be wrong pulling prices back this week with the way live has set off wont they, but i suppose thats something they wont know till the sales have started.
Did you remind our friend from Dunbia what the latest mart averages are before he coughed up the extra 10/20p though??
Heard they were turning ewes away, I wanted to send some but they weren't very keen so I'll take my business elsewhere.
Bakewell was a decent trade and a buyer short. Almost the worse the ewe the dearer they looked.
And if they hold off for a week or on volume slightly, causes an over supply for demand and price eases.
Never said a word, if ive agreed to sell at 6.20 i cant complain to anyone, was nice when they came back extra though.
I sent lambs to farmers fresh today they quoted 640 Friday and paid 650 which was a pleasant surprise. As they say ever little helps!!

I use both but I know where I feel more appreciated. As you know there's a lot of men in Melton that would have been rugby all there lives. Ml has done a good job getting the ewe numbers and trade to where it is now just don't tell him!
