I did hear that dunbia had lifted their price and were looking for lambs, but thatโs from farmers not an agent. I sold a few live yesterday and thought they werenโt as dear as earlier in the weekAnyone sent lambs dead this week? Had some groups shift slightly in KO% and ram lambs must have started chasing and they lost weight compared to when they were marked 2 weeks ago every ewe lamb has kept putting weight on
Lambs up 30-40p/dead this week to mid wales, hell of a lot of people weaning as drought sets in good and properI did hear that dunbia had lifted their price and were looking for lambs, but thatโs from farmers not an agent. If thereโs a fresh bite it will be better to wean them, it will be the earliest for me to start. Going to wean one lot tomorrow or should I wait until this heat passesLambs up 30-40p/dead this week to mid wales, hell of a lot of people weaning as drought sets in good and proper
What would a half decent Suff x Mule shearling have made?No end of breeding sheep went home unsold today!
Trade was half decent for the first 70% of the sale then dropped away suddenly by ยฃ20 or so head in an instant!
You could pick up leaner shearlings come the end for ยฃ127+ head and nothing wrong with them either! would have made more in the fat ring 12 months ago!
Saw some sold 2 weeks ago, grade 1โs ยฃ205 average, grade 2โs ยฃ180. They were all from same farmWhat would a half decent Suff x Mule shearling have made?
Sheep dealers wet dream, everyone in the south on hay, a lot in early and getting a bit dry. They will make some on them in 6 weeks when the real sales start. No end of breeding sheep went home unsold today!

Iv got some good crops that havenโt been grazed since early April or on wet fields (I was marking the ground yesterday when turning. But anything that was shut up late on brash is just toppings and might get one round to the acre....... I must admit I'm not really understanding the situation down in the southern region ......
One says no grass and dry ......and then you hear of hay being made everywhere
You cant make hay if you got no grass .......can you ??
That's not good !!Iv got some good crops that havenโt been grazed since early April or on wet fields (I was marking the ground yesterday when turning. But anything that was shut up late on brash is just toppings and might get one round to the acre.
It doesnโt really matter to me about the thin crops, got to be topped anyway so that the same price as mowing, just ted once row up and bale. Still only ยฃ20/bale. Proper farmer maths there. That's not good !!
Comment was slightly 'tongue in cheek' really . We are very lucky round here plenty of grass and decent crops but the grass will soon go now . ....is this hay gonna be worth anything ?
Baling some today I would happily sell off the field to save hauling it back ......but not much trade
Is that going to justify the fuel??
Not cheaper to just buy some hay?
Errrrโฆ. Put the mower away would be my advice? Diesels to dear! Come and get mine crashed off instead. Iโll give you a brew and a Butty of your choice! Iโll even allow your brew the first dip of the teabagโฆ
