If you have stuck to it up to retirement age your pretty determined and in love with the job imoTheres a fella just below malton a good age still comes to kirkby to buy cattle, cant remind his name now, grand fella.
Think us farmers struggle to stop when weve known nothing else all our lives!

There is a worrying trend in farmers when they decide to pack up. They die very soon after! It’s almost as if they’ve gone hard at it all their lives and when they stop, body stops.Theres a fella just below malton a good age still comes to kirkby to buy cattle, cant remind his name now, grand fella.

Yes, I was selling. I thought there was a good show of cattle but a lot less than there used to be at that saleAnyone at Penrith store sale today? Looks like there was a tremendous show of cattle
Someone mentioned this to me the other day, a 75 yr old, his doctor told him whatever he did dont retire! There is a worrying trend in farmers when they decide to pack up. They die very soon after! It’s almost as if they’ve gone hard at it all their lives and when they stop, body stops.
Don’t leave it too late, make sure there is a bit of time to enjoy it. I intend on being cashed up and done by sixty. No living children and on the edge of a village, I’m not chewing on until I drop for the government to have it for freeThere is a worrying trend in farmers when they decide to pack up. Diesel, you mean dark fruit cider?Day four of muck spreading here decided to go out last night and drink 2/3 pints of diesel an hour for eight hours had one lot of cattle ran out of water this afternoon just got in after digging and ditching for a few hours
Never drinking again
At the ua they weigh all the stores aswell, but l take mine to the other market and if lv really nice ones l get them to weigh them and just say the weight they are before they sell them, always more deductions with the fat aswell. It's a gamble either way, probably want 40/44kg in a couple of months time when everyone kept them to 50kgs.stores seem to fluctuate a fair bit,
i took some stores last week and got 84, i had weighed them and to be fair the ppkg was same as fats, but they were much lighter, hence price
taking them as they are for fat i know what im gonna get stores, is more of a gamble, but i know what you mean,
ive got some booked in for next store sale i should take some 40kg and see what they make!
Diesel was snakebite and black in my day.Diesel, you mean dark fruit cider?
