We have to pay full price.
Registered businesses can claim back a rebate for the “road tax” portion, which is currently 40 cents per litre, for eligible off road use. This includes mining, forestry, fishing, agriculture, electricity generation and such like. Basically diesel use that isn’t propelling road going vehicles. We can claim that back either monthly, quarterly or annually ( depending on your business structure & accounting practices ) when we lodge our BAS ( business activity statement. Similar to VAT ) . But we have already paid full price, then have to claim the rebate.
So based on that, our “farm use” diesel is still dearer than E10 petrol & a similar price to “premium” petrol.
So you’re not far off UK red prices in the UK which has been £1.00-£1.10 ex any tax which can be reclaimed. No

I’ll say it again we have we have it here it just does not have the red die in it and we have to claim back the rebate where in the UK they don’t the Rebate it’s taken off before when the farmer buys it and they put the red die in there so if someone is using it in a vehicle on the public road and they shouldn’t be the fuel could be tested To see if it’s rebate fuel or notNo

Ours is $1.92 a litre there’s no red diesel either and we can’t claim anything back. Petrol is more expensive though $2.10 a litre. And we get through about 14000 litres every month.PS - for the foreigners, we don’t have “red” diesel here. It’s just all diesel
