Would NZ farmers be making any money on these lambs. Surely they can’t produce them for nothing
Not nothing bit less , more sheep per person , better grazing seasons inputs cheaper ….. all adds up and they tell us nz lamb on uk shelf has a lower carbon foot print than our own ! I simply dont believe that but many silly folk will.

I have my doubts. A lot of different systems as well which may not have the fixed cost base of some businesses. All a bit of a sh1t show at moment
I’m sick of the exlarna bull shite where they recon one man can ruin thousands of ewes for no cost and cheap/free ground. The only person making money out of the pyramid is the one at the top and he’s only got 600 ewes, they where that great and easy surely he should have 10,000.

My thoughts exactly, breeding stock is where the money is obviously

There’s a big difference between these other countries that send meat here and what we are up against. They are supported right the way through from currency values to the slaughter system and marketing. We can’t eve get the meat out over the border ports without a struggle AHDB doesn’t appear to sell much it’s the big private processors that sell it

Aye not the type of sheep I’m after ......the ideal sheep is surely the type that produce enough to be sustainable with the smallest possible flock 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ this doing more and becoming more”efficient “ is starting to get tiresome 🤔🤔🤔
