Would 1100 buy a beast that would be fat for ChristmasCockermouth stores were a good trade yesterday, A very good show of cattle which most of the catalogue managed to get to the mart despite some pretty dodgy road conditions yesterday morning, plenty of very good big 550+kg £1800+ a lot of yearling cattle £1100-£1400.
Yes I was surprised to see that happenWell finished hoggs are maybe not there either, especially when you see Abp upping their price by 20p

Were they up a bit?For a xmas show ? no
For xmas ? some might be.
It could be that they have an order to fill so up the price to get them out of the woodwork and it will drop mid week. They did that one week in the back end when they just got a new contract to fill.Well finished hoggs are maybe not there either, especially when you see Abp upping their price by 20p

Been with Johnny over the years through various marts don’t see much of him now a grand lad very helpful used to get excited when he was younger after a pint or twoYes, still going strong!!
Good auction mart, Good stock, some good friendly folk, good team working at Mitchells, good cafe
He still does after a pint or two! just a bit olderBeen with Johnny over the years through various marts don’t see much of him now a grand lad very helpful used to get excited when he was younger after a pint or two
That’s all that matters. Pretty much the same position here sold anything half decent up to November then kept the rest which weren’t very good.Last ones av £85. Drawing them down to 34kg mostly 36-38 tho. A lot of twin lambs out of shearlings last year so they weren’t very big and don’t think they would have made much over £25 in the store in October. So yes they’ve definitely paid to feed.
He’s a good laugh when he gets goingHe still does after a pint or two! just a bit older
