How was trade today?
Place packed out with sheep/ pigs/ calves/ stirks and store cattle.

985 strong stores penned sold to an electric trade, 13 month suckler steers to £1495 head for example, trade it was said was much dearer on the week.

Yet another massive entry of stirks at about 550 head sold again to an electric trade for suckler bred stuff, dairy bred sorts perhaps a shade cheaper on the week but not by much.

Massive entry of about 550 calves selling to a packed ringside and a trade said to be well ahead of any other SW markets this week.

Yet again a massive entry of hoggs at just shy of 1800 penned which whilst selling to a packed ring of buyers would be back on the week and averaged about £102 head.

Massive entry yet again of cull ewes at 1446 penned sold to a much easier trade for most but the top end it was said took the least hit on trade today.

Couples, some strong outfits penned sold to a very lacklustre trade and back on previous weeks, as the sale went on the cheaper they got,for example a triplet FM with some super strong 6 week old lambs only made £198 for the outfit, a few around the £80 life but few and far between, few buyers for couples.

Arthur D, was a Legend!👍

He got a contract supplying rock armour boulders out of Mendip quarries to repair sea defences at Minehead about 1980 - got a few Russian tippers for the job - plod pulled him for potentially being overweight - down to local public bridge and was. He just tipped them out on the bridge - 'Now I'm not'!

That's what put the Great in Britain! 😂

Does anyone on here farm around Derwent reservoir and missing some sheep?

Photo on FB of some ethnics stood around by the road whilst they have a hogg/lamb hung up on a tree with a knife in its neck and half butchered!
Who’s to say they hadn’t bought it off a nearby farm. Iv herd of folk doing it before. Good way to get rid of a stiff legged one 😜
