About time someone with a modicum of forward thinking threw those climate targets out on their arse. They will cripple the country and the people while there is still a plane landing or taking off every 5 minutes from Manchester Airport.I think the government are just firefighting from one problem to another, they havent got a clue what there doing. These climate targets are scary when they seem to want to throw food production under the bus to hit them regardless of the obvious .
100% in Wales if we are forced to plant the farm im 10% trees for a measily payment, have to sit round a table and be told how what why to do things and jump through hoops like a circus clown and be thankful for it they can carry on. Stock numbers will be slashed and I can walk into a job paying far more.money for less work. You only live once.I still maintain that unless they come up with something that pays better as soon as the BPS ends we won’t be taking any subsidy at all. Be damned to getting inspected for the peanuts we are eligible for on the SFI
You are allowed under competition rules to demand COP, what you can not do it colluded/manipulate the market. One of the top team NFU office holders told another TFF member the other day that the NFU are not legally allowed to call/ demand higher prices for farmers and are not allowed to talk about prices..
Strange that given Minnie Batters statements time and time again saying that farmers need to produce cheap food..
I was thinking about this last night. You are allowed under competition rules to demand COP, what you can not do it colluded/manipulate the market.
I’m starting to think that lighter lambs will take some shiftingI only took a few ewes (above) because I really went to see lamb trade. Talk round the ring was there back another £5 to £10 on last week. I would say well fleshed commercial lambs around £2.50, better Beltex lambs £3.00 and the best £3.50. Poorer end or lacking meat below £2.25. Heavy lambs were in good demand (50 kgs plus) but they could have been worth the same in June at 10 kgs less!
Anybody else there think that’s about right?
Apparently there is a glut of ready roasted light lambs in Greece so no export...I’m starting to think that lighter lambs will take some shifting
Maybe better in stores? A lot of the 50kgs + lambs would be more pence per kg than under 40 kg lambsI’m starting to think that lighter lambs will take some shifting

Did the Government and the supermarkets break the law during that cosy little get together?
It might be correct but it isn't rightI only took a few ewes (above) because I really went to see lamb trade. Talk round the ring was there back another £5 to £10 on last week. Might be taking all subsidy and have no stockI still maintain that unless they come up with something that pays better as soon as the BPS ends we won’t be taking any subsidy at all. Be damned to getting inspected for the peanuts we are eligible for on the SFI
We can't put up with inspections and red tape and worry and hassle over keeping things in order for £3 quid an hour....they must think we're crackers, wrong in the heed or summat!
It might come to that....we might not be able to keep going because 'we enjoy it' much longer, who knows,So don't keep doing it then, that's the only way it will change. Go and stack shelves in Tesco, or whatever.
if all the farmers done that there would be nart to stack in Tesco'sSo don't keep doing it then, that's the only way it will change. Go and stack shelves in Tesco, or whatever.
