Biblical weather

Well, they spoke about Feast and Famine .... but nothing about RT, as far as I know! šŸ™‚

Thereā€™s those that like to thump the pulpit and shout about ā€œhell, damnation and original sin!ā€

Itā€™s clearly a reference to Adam and Eve not having their paperwork in order for ā€œthe safe production of applesā€, they probably forgot to do an IPM and keep a weekly diary for ā€˜the control of serpentsā€™.

Went to a small farm dispersal sale this morning at Sutton Maddock near S Telford. Numbers there seemed a bit poor as travel pretty tricky from some areas, but it was not one for the arable boys.

Was a touch soggy* underfoot, but they had no alternative. Prices favoured the buyers I felt, and some Dealers had a field day buying cheap kit.

* Looked like the Somme by 3.30pm though.. :(

I have had more visitors today than on a dry day, not a day to be travelling anywhere without good reason.
Son was one of those visitors, told him which route not to go home as it would be impassable so he chose a route with even deeper floods.
I have always thought I was very capable of looking after myself and of keeping myself safe, I have also always known it would be my loved ones most likely to drop me in it instead. Sure enough within 5 minutes of leaving here he decided to drive through a deep flood and broke his van, then called me to go and tow him out. The flood was that bad I had serious reservations about going through with my tractor, what's more than that he had absolutely no need to go that way in the first place.

Rained last night on Vale of York, not much today and during daylight you hardly needed a coat on, it was just mizzle in the wind
Lads in next village were flat out lifting spuds & carting tatie trailers all day, so wasnā€™t wet enough to stop the potato harvesting where we were situated
Very weird weather

No. Five months rain in five weeks is not normal. The drama is that for a large percentage of eastern England's clayland wheatbelt, there will be big write-offs and fallowed area. That's naff all straw; feed grain for ethanol / cattle feed, or green crops for AD plants.

It's now surpassed 2019 and 2012, and apart from Sunday is expected to rain until early November.

So a normal backend it isn't.
