First bit of direct drilling. Wheat into spring oat stubble. Done a good job interesting to see how it comes up only issue is seed depth some is not that deep and some is probably 3” in, fields aren’t flat enough after having ploughed and powerharrowed for years. Most is fine though
Any photos nowLast field drilled to WB, just coming up.View attachment 1145805
Will get some next time I visit the field. Was looking good last time i looked. Saw the barley over the weekend and that is looking very good, apart from the fact it is more yellow than green because of the damned rain. Hope it perks up a bit with this weeks "dry" forcast.Any photos now
There you go, taken this morning 22/11, one looking up the headland, one down the field.Any photos now

Thanks. The wheat looks good. So is this 1 inch points on a new sprinter 27cm row spacing or pre 2016 sprinter on 25cm row spacing? There you go, taken this morning 22/11, one looking up the headland, one down the field.

Thanks. I think the new sprinter on 27cm centres will be fine on a 2 inch point.2003 co4, 12mm Metcalfe @ 250mm .

I'm not sure, there is a bit of slug grazing, I've got to decide whether to pellet. ..3rd picture looks similar to a field I drilled with a Clayton which I don’t think will do, what are your thoughts with yours?
Good point, surely microbes and other soil creepy crawlies can be classed as animals too. It's surprising how quickly it's broken down this year. I guess the slugs munched most of it
Everyone says cover crops need to go through an animal, for the nutrients to be released properly... Do slugs count?
