Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

We went out for a meal last night local pub , 6 of us , never been to this pub for food before , great menu all meat no fish no veggie no vegan !! Buy one meal get other half price everyone had steak or burger !! Awesome 👏 😂 tonight we have had home reared young sheep omg absolutely beautiful 🤩 i love a bit of young sheep and some left over for sandwiches tomorrow …. They wont take the meat out my diet the twits … home reared bacon in the mornings n all … we will be back for another meal above pub soon as the food was great and cheap and supporting meat 🍖 like no tomorrow !!
We sometimes go for Sunday dinner at a pub not too far away they have all local meat on the menu I quite like the idea they have of supporting businesses nearby they show where it comes from on the menu

I stopped going to my local over this , went in for steaks and got told they are to dear to stock and none on menu , i said your public bar is full bouncing and 95% of your customers make their living off beef lamb and you sell neither , he said aye its to dear , i said goodbye and never been back in , fek em .

Yes I’ve had the same conversations. Some say lamb is too dear to put on the menu in a place where sheep farming is the main business.
Tasteless chewy meat when I mentioned it no one really knew it was apart from farming folks
I just wonder how many folks it puts off eating it

Just had a heifer butched. 31 month old longhorn, it got a bit carried away feeding it barley so it had fat class 5 written all over it 🙈 instead of getting hammered dead for out of spec we are eating it. The fat level is perfect for me! Very tasty 😋

Always seems to be huge reluctance to try and improve beef product in this country.
I wouldn’t say so…..when the butchers wanted pot bellied angus and herefords that’s what farmers kept….when they wanted lean double muscled blues that’s what farmers kept….now they want a fatty limmy that’s what farmers are keeping…..I’d say some of these auld farmers are very willing to supply what the market wants

look at some of those old paintings, very short legs and belly near on the ground, much sort after (y)
1stly a painting hmmm
2ndlt probably all they could produce anywway then .
3rdly how many years ago ? Im talkimg about today not the past .
Providing high kill out % is not quality its quantity which the systems wants and that why folk follow it rightly so in many cases , their is nothing in the system that pays for eating quality .. as their is in other countries .
