New forward/reverse plate. It will do a good job of squashing stuff down. Normal plate just there for a size comparison.

Unless doing oil sampling its all guess work.

Ive done many engine extension programs in mines with cat and cummins.

As an example if you want to go from 250 to 500 hrs, first review all 250 samole data, farmers wont have this.

Then we sample daily from 250 to 500, sometimes we never made it as the results were to bad and have ti change oil at 320 etc.

Its all in ppm, the old tell by eye is utter horse shite.

If you really want to be top notch you would go by fuel burn as this is related to load.

I have done algorithms that group fuel burn in to packets of 10 and then had algorithms to indicate when oil to be changed.

On our biogas CHP (6 cyl MAN) we have been able to go from 1000 hours change with Mobil Pegasus 610 oil, only just getting by, to 1350 hours on Petro Canada Syntron CG40 (a cheaper oil!), which has paid off the cost of sampling. I think we might go further, but that pushes the interval on the other things done at the same time.
Using an extended sump rather than the original sump initially increased the interval from 500 to 1000 hours.

Ive done haul trucks and some diggers on 1000hr, however not all parameters are caught in sampling as they are time consuming to do.

Ag gear can be like mining gear and be highly variable in load during the year, so telematics is vital to assist to cheapen off sampling costs.
