And the other political parties all round the world don't ?Just pointing out how Farridge and the company called Reform make mugs of ordinary, simple people.

Come on now you sound like a fully signed up EU fan , you know you want say Faraaaage!Farridge
I guess it very much depends if it's using fossil fuels to produce local food or if it's for bringing in cheap foreign food or simply joy riding.
While that is true, this country has laws that would land us in clink had we done what some of the farmers in the EU did whereas in France at least the laws protect the protesters right to do what they did, that makes it much harder for us, also due to their inheritance laws huge numbers of the french have interest in land.Shows what action can achieve while in this country we do nothing but talk.!!
Thought they were protesting against higher fuel prices making home produced food more expensive than cheap imports many of those from Ukraine, it's making a lot of politicians very nervous of supporting Ukraine joining the EU.My point exactly.
We can't complain about flying food in from darkest wherever, or growing it in power hungry vertical farms, if we are going to protest against Net Zero.
So what argument have the French 'won' ?

Think you have got the wrong end of the stick, diesel is simply the last straw for a multitude of complaints of farmers both in Europe & here, Europe's stupid politicians come the European elections will feel the result. The price the farmer pays for tractor diesel has zero impact on the price of food. Of all the fossil fuel used in the food chain, 0.26% is used on farm. Tesco's freezers burn more electricity than does all of UK agriculture.
If the Frogs think that their farming futures are more secure by getting cheap red, they are deluded.

Lot more to it than diesel. The price the farmer pays for tractor diesel has zero impact on the price of food. Of all the fossil fuel used in the food chain, 0.26% is used on farm. Tesco's freezers burn more electricity than does all of UK agriculture.

Sort of unrelated, but I reckon net zero will fall apart in due course. World is becoming too unstable an the costs involved are insane. It will take all our efforts just to survive.EU backtracks on net zero..... where does this leave our shambolic 'union' after they signed us up

can you not at least take succour in the 'discomfort of our enemies'

That's not to say we couldn't do a lot together our point across, mainly by stopping the supply of our produce for a few days, no milk, meat or bread in the shops would soon bring the government down, the trouble is the NFU don't have the balls to organise it on the quiet so it has maximum effect and too many farmers wouldn't tip their milk away or not send finished stock in, or refuse to load grain out.
The price the farmer pays for tractor diesel makes a lot of difference to the farmer though
It wasn't me who said that they were protesting about higher tractor fuel prices. Or that higher tractor fuel prices made home produced food more expensive in the shops.
Nope.
Because those who are calling for reduced fossil fuel use due to (the fear of) climate change, are not our enemies.
We get a tax rebate on the price of GNR we pay. The French government were going to stop the rebate. This has been reversed.Lot more to it than diesel.
