If your country is invaded and you wish to fight back and do so successfully, against the invaders, i guess you can see a point in it.
If you find yourself endlessly fighting and dying over the same peace of ground, the "point" may become elusive after a certain amount of time.

If by that you mean, they were encouraged to think falsely that they had "our" full and permanent support, then i agree.
However, "our" support, though limited in scope and duration, was helpful in driving back the early Russian advances.
However, it encouraged them to overreach in terms of aims and to back their leader into his rhetorical corner.

Russia has declared the Estonian PM and a couple of others to be wanted criminals...

And it's because... they ordered the removal of Soviet monuments in their countries.

Not for mass-murder, genocide, gang-rapes, torture & kidnapping thousands of children.

I am beginning to think that unless this war is reversed soon, it will result in an all-out war in at least Eastern Europe.

So was I... as for the rest, Trump is a prat and is saying anything that will stir up trouble.

However, and by any measure, it is entirely unfair to criticise anyone in the US who is p!ssed off with having underwritten European security for the past seventy years while almost all of the countries of Europe not been anywhere near paying and doing their fair share. Had these countries paid their dues and spent and invested in their own defence to even the minimal 2% of GDP level, the current situation would be vastly different.

If you really want to discuss the NATO funding and contributory situation - past and present, I'm up for it and I guarantee that, while not altering the fact of Trump being an arsehole, it will do far more to justify US scepticism than question it...
I am not fully conversant with how NATO funding works but I am certain that NATO countries buy a large percentage of armaments from US companies such as Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockhead Martin which contributes enormously to US coffers. Of course the US wants other members to pay more and not just to make a larger contribution towards their own defence..
You may also be able to enlighten me how NATO countries split the cost of US bases on their territory. Does the US pay rent on sites? How do the arangements compare with those of US bases in non NATO countries. If you know the answers it could save me hours of research.
Clearly US bases around the world are of strategic importance to the US whether in NATO countries or not. Who puts a price on them ?
American politicians such as Trump are loud mouthed vote catchers and their motives are far from honestly directed toward the national interests.
