The Trump 'monster'.

If you felt inclined to point an accusing finger at everyone with power/influence that has met Putin over the years, you'd have a hellishly long list.

But of-course, Trump is the only one that's now worthy of mention.

Nevermind that in this case the person doing the accusing also claims that a MAGA hat should be viewed similarly to a swastika.

Plainly she's what would be described here as a "melter".
Indeed!

Well... we do know he had documents he shouldn't have. We do know that he refused to return them. We do know a lawyer sent a letter claiming he'd returned everything. We do know he was subpoenaed and we do know he was raided and did have a lot of documents in his possession he shouldn't have.

That is all just factual events. What is done with that information is not for us and is for the judicial system to figure out what, if any, crime was committed.

We also know Biden had documents. Although when asked to return them he did so which does change the dynamic significantly.
So if I take a bottle of whiskey from tescos and they find it in my house but I then give it back then it's all ok ? We don't "know" what he had merely what we have been told, we don't know what Biden had, we don't know what Hilary had either just what we have been told. Is trump bonkers ? Well from what I've "seen" yes but so is Biden , Hilary used her private phone for official duties and had stuff on it that she shouldn't have had ( allegedly) Bill Clinton lied on telly to the American public yet nothing seems to have been said about that or using his position of power to get a vulnerable young girl to perform sexual favours, she reported him yet was he condemned?
It seems that there are double standards here, either condemn them all or none of them.

Well I'm more condemning the subpoena and required raid.

You are probably right about double standards but there is no point in compounding the problem by continuing . It should stop now. The probability of Trump being guilty is high but hiding behind previous deviations is no excuse.

The main thing is whether it matters significantly to voters which it clearly doesn't

Perhaps you should be worrying more about the state of your own country's decline than what happens several miles west of you.?
America is the world's most powerful democracy. We here in the world's oldest (modern) democracy clearly have a vested interest in an American President who respects the rule of law and democratic institutions. Especially as we are witnessing an authoritarian war of aggression on a very young democracy a bit over the the East.

Obviously it isn't up to us and internet chat makes no difference to anyone (ever) but we are allowed to have opinions and concerns.

The trickle down effect of the politicisation of the supreme court.

Mind you, it goes back to the seventies and the eighties when the Evangelical Right were cynically harnessed and nurtured as a voting block by Republicans, who were mad about the anti segregation laws that had been forced upon them. Fast forward to this, and you effectively have a religious opinion informing this change in the law.

Why do you surmise that people are "harnessed" or "nutured".
Their views that the unborn fetus has more rights than others think it should, are just their views and should be reflected in a democracy surely?
