think wetherspoons legit

but

nail bars = money laundering
sunbed shops = money laundering
coffee shops = money laundering
barbershop = money laundering
tattoo shops = money laundering
car washes = money laundering

yet HMRC seem to leave them alone and harass proper business instead!
You forgot small animal vets.
Or is it that they are licensed to print money?

Folks aren't paying for the coffee, they are paying for the experience. If you live in a cramped flat, or on a busy road, or the kids have just given you merry hell on the school run, why not sit and have a quiet coffee ?
That is true for some but a lot of f**kers get takeaway and throw the rubbish in the hedge . before all the fast food , drink outlets there was way less litter.

Not just the yoof to be fair !
Off topic, my dad used to love mooching round second hand shops, then would start bartering for stuff with the shop owner, I was embarrassed as a kid , but looking back , it’s how things were when you didn’t have a lot , every penny counted
Dad did that in the Gibraltar equivalent of Woolworths back in the mid 90’s over a barbie + pony set my sister wanted. It got so ridiculous that both mum and I left to sit in the car. 🫣

wife bought me one of those exspensive steel 'keep it hot flasks' but tbh i find the old plastic outer thermos flasks best and large size as well, keeps water hot for ages.

never make it up before just take seperate milk and bags /instant and make when required in the mug for freshness.
Armrest on the old 4240s used to make light work of destroying those glass flasks!

I bet half the people shaking their heads over the dreaded public buying coffee spend a fortune on beer, wine or eating out and think nothing of it.
Coffee shops no different than a pub or off licence.

Marking out a new fence line last week next to the road. Costa seems to be the takeaway of choice around here judging by the cups in the hedge.

We live just out side the village with a good bakery/ café. Lots of mums drop their kids off at the local prep school, pick up a coffee and walk through the farm on the busy footpath. I've got an old pheasant feeder next to the foot path., opened it up in the new year and it was full of empty coffee cups!

On my visit to Caernarfon previously mentioned, we called in the new Air Ambulance shop which has a little cafe in one corner. Mrs Y had a flat white and I had a pot of tea and we shared a fruit scone with butter, cream and jam for £10.30.
Since passing 75 I look for something better than the flask and bait bag which we've used in the previous decades. Also I am spending the money in a charity and the coin I leave in the saucer is going to a volunteer.
