Anyone else get the Openfield Friday update, by Cecilia Pryce I think?
They reckon China will be a net exporter of grain in a few years😳.
Time to grass down the farm I reckon if that’s the case?
That woman is a blight on U.K. ag. My hobby horse but her columns in the farmers guide raise my blood pressure something chronic. So down on U.K. farmers, you wouldn’t think she worked for a farmer cooperative or was on the ahdb board…. 🙄😡

Keep getting calls wanting milling wheat for June/july.
had 4 different wagon drivers in this week all said similar, more empty sheds than full.
one said only sheds that are full that he’s been to recently is a frontier store.

It is nearly halfway through April so hardly suprising, that more empty than full.

alot of commercial stores will be emptying in July August, or carried through if they can buy some more June/July straight off farm.

A thought has just struck me as a rt assured producer. I wonder if commercial stores have to have a period of emptyness to allow for annual cleaning as do I or can they seperately store their assured grain over year in the same store / premises .My inspector a couple of years told me that I had to be totally empty on the premises not just individual building at least once to allow for cleaning and to avoid any likelihood of cross contamination think it was the year mass balance was introduced .
