It was dark most of the day here more like a day in December or January was on cleaning some cattle sheds out and it was in darkness at 5 o clock
Which Mac's did you use?Macs have been a big saviour here especially after finding new supplier they actual stay on for a while !! until lamb strengthens and grows out of them.Sold some own hoggs last week for £180 so a 30p mac is excellent value.
We haven't sold at those prices so can't afford a MacNew supplier new product from Mid wales. 07891 104 146. He is supplying direct also selling to bigger farm outlets up North especially not surprised with the battering up there!Which Mac's did you use?
The mrs went to get some but they said that the new ones are bio degradable and rip on the lambs do more harm than goodWhich Mac's did you use?
I've got ducks, pigeons ,starlings and all other small birds in the sheds all the time I can't keep them out. The sheep aren't fed in troughs and are probably where birds sh!t least.I never like seeing bird shite in the troughs or when the grazing ground is wet and you get bird sh!t all over the short grass
I’m 3 days into lambing and haven’t a live lamb yet. Plenty of ewes dieing with lambs in as well.No idea, I live next to a loch so I've birds in sheds all the time.be the worst lambing I'll of had an I'm only 10 days into it.
Not these ones. Was the case with newer (Agrimin?) Ones last year they were not the strength like their previous ones. The mrs went to get some but they said that the new ones are bio degradable and rip on the lambs do more harm than good
The old ones are ok haven’t found any as yet though
We had campy about 7 or 8 years ago, had 40 sheep abort before we got a live lamb, folk kept saying it settle when we got properly into lambing but it never did, like you, we'd have 100+ abort, soul destroying, but then nowt the year after, think they get a bit of immunity for a few years
That sounds terrible.do you know what the problem is?I’m 3 days into lambing and haven’t a live lamb yet. Plenty of ewes dieing with lambs in as well.
I don’t know tbh, think probably toxo as was feeding some very bad hay that been in a shed a long time. I imagine it will turn a corner soon, I would have had live lambs yesterday but the weather took them as there in an exposed place and lambs a bit weak. Locals aren’t helping in reporting every dead sheep to the world. That sounds terrible.do you know what the problem is?

We were told is goes in 5 year cycles, maybe should sell up after next lambing timeI don’t want to worry you but we were told, when we had our first campy storm, that it would rumble on then flair up every ten years or so.
That’s been about right.
If the ewes are dying it’s usually campoI’m 3 days into lambing and haven’t a live lamb yet. Plenty of ewes dieing with lambs in as well.
If it’s the chlamydia one (campo) there’s often a white discharge on the placentaI don’t know tbh, think probably toxo as was feeding some very bad hay that been in a shed a long time. JL is ‘into’ a bit of IrishGot told there were 6 Irish sheep wagons in Carlisle on Sunday night. Looks like it was worth their while as the trade was good.
Not so good for the locals who are hanging around all day to sell their sheep though.
My ewes aren't dying from it.just aborting, having dead lambs or weak things that don't last long.If the ewes are dying it’s usually campo
Does jabbing the ewes make any difference or does it not touch campo? Will it blow itself out?My ewes aren't dying from it.just aborting, having dead lambs or weak things that don't last long.
Vet said there's different strains.we seem to have the one that effects the fetus.
Sounds more like longtown than Carlisle ! Are longtown loosing it a bit ?Got told there were 6 Irish sheep wagons in Carlisle on Sunday night. Looks like it was worth their while as the trade was good.
