Just wondering what others lamb numbers wise and how many staff they have on the job.

2 in day and 1 at night plus me. 1250 ewes.

Lamb 550 ( 500 this year) usually myself and Mrs helps after work or she books a week off
Had vet students this year and it made me realise how much easier a little help makes the job

Normally me and dad lamb 1250 Mules then another 300 Welsh that starting now, done it in my own this year as dad has been ill bloody exhausted, weather didn’t help much could of done with this dry weather a fortnight ago.

Facebook pages or the NSA had a lambing list you could put dates on when you need help.
We're probably over staffed but I like it that way.its just for 3 weeks so helps keeps the stress levels down

My Mrs is on various farming groups for ladies , I think the students contacted her through them

Do you lamb them all outside? That sounds very busy
. Surely that size of flock can justify some extra labour at this time of year.

140 cows plus followers to finish.

750 Highlander ewes all outside. Myself mainly, Mrs Bob when she isn’t teaching and 2 teenagers when not at school.
