Lower stocks lower production estimates and a lot of shorts

maybe the market is waking up to the risk of less grain than average trend yields from 5 year averages

the one we all knew on farm is that the uk will have to import grain because the potential in the fields is below the 5 year average and the area is lower

There maybe plenty of grain , but it's all in the wrong place

The Ahdb report is based on last weeks action so is out of date by 4 days

they should publish on near the end of the week as most grain traders do

Is that the same AHDB that said,last Autumn,plantings were only 1% less than normal ?
We pay them millions and all they do is regurgitate market information other sources be it accurate or not.
I think my 8 year old Grandaughter could do a better job.

If I had followed their reports or rather put more weight on their thoughts could have been £1000/load adrift fortunately my influencer has been consistently saying patience

The AHDB most definitely would get closed down if they influenced the price up, we pay them to do the governments bidding.

I've just been having a look at the weather in Russia. It's been dry over the last 6 week and the forecast isn't great for the rest of the month.

They are expecting 34c in the next couple of days too.

A reduced Russian crop would shake things up a bit.

Driver told me today his company is flat out hauling german and canadian wheat in from the docks. Says he hasn't done much domestic stuff for a few weeks.

Price this morning for new crop feed wheat £200 for september. Sit tight its going to go up. Anything to do with russia could see feed at £250 and at that its a sell surely.

how long are these farmers signed up to sfi tied into it just this year or a few years? could be a mad scramble for them to get out of if we really do see a drought in russia, thats a game changer
