    Light weight/cool overalls

There's a budget make, "Castle", I picked up from the local agri store a few years ago, zip front, hard wearing and quite a bit cooler than the Dickies ones I normally wear. I didn't like them in the beginning because they weren't as thick a material, but soon learnt they are a great summer overall.

    Foot problems with dogs?

Could it be Alabama rot? Very nasty virus that can kill dogs. Very bad in this area. Seems to be around woodland and muddy areas.

George Monbiot "how we ended up paying farmers to flood our homes"

I saw a live interview of an old timer up North yesterday who said that they had flood problems like this in the 50's and a grand scheme of dredging drainage chanels and rivers was adopted nationally, that improved things greatly. That is until the 80's when it was transferred to local...

If you like your BMW, why not consider an X1 to give a bit more ground clearance. Quite reasonable at Motorpoint.

do we need the red tractor scheme

If it's such a waste of time why does FFA push Red Tractor so much at their demos and speeches, when asking consumers to support British farming. I am in support of farm assurance. Maybe it needs shaking up a bit, but IMHO we are better with it than without. And if you think it would save much...

    Farming connect

Farming connect is very good if you want funded (was 80%) skills training/certificates, such as sprayer use, chainsaws, telehandlers etc.

    Overseeding / Glyphos Question,

I would just do a regular overseed, but it has some bad thistle areas. I'll probably bite the bullet and get the contractor to plough it up.

    Overseeding / Glyphos Question,

Ideally I would like to Glyphos/Roundup a field and then overseed it. Is it possible, and if so what process/timing (spraying) is best to use. I have a Browns comb harrow with small spinner seeder on it. An agronomist told me not to glyphos before a comb harrow overseed because it would not...

Tesco Store only stocking NZ lamb/ Irish beef

Stores must vary so much area to area. Here in S.E.Wales, British and assured produce is readily available. Some lamb is NZ, but there is also UK and Welsh lamb.

    Landrover and VAT

Since 1st January 2011 the Defender 110 Station Wagon is classed as commercial, regarding VAT and road tax. From what I understand it is that LR increased the payload on it to qualify.
