Retrospective structural calcs needed (cold-rolled steel frame agri building)

Every building is supposed to have site specific calcs, hot rolled or cold rolled, nothing to do with fire. If the adjacent building is not owned by the same person then that's where you can have problems.

    Recommend me a car

You need a Peugeot traveller or Citroen spacetourer or vauxhall vivaro life, XL version of each. huge amount of room and still a big boot. We have 6 kids, 3 teenage boys and 3 younger and space is no issue, boot is still so big that we don't even need to fold up the pushchair for the baby, just...

    Ticks

Never had them before but the dog had one a few weeks back and then the cat had one and again a week ago. Any products out there that can be sprayed on the garden to kill them? Dog doesn't go past garden unless he is walking on lead on footpath, so cant see he got it anywhere else.

New small grain store for multiple crops

Visited a farm with a setup like this, they had a building which was probably 140ft wide, with the center being a 60ft portal, then a 40ft lean to each side, just 1 roller door in the middle of the gable end. Internally each bay of the lean-to's were partitioned with concrete panels so they...

    new machinery store

You will never regret getting a 100x100 shed, the clear span space would have so many uses. But you do need to balance costs (unless you have unlimited budget) so something like 40 or 50ft in the middle and 25ft lean to each side would be economical and give you good partitioning capabilities...

    steel sizes and weight.

Change your rafters on quote 1 to 406x140x39UB, then that will be the best option. A deep slim rafter is better that a shallow wide one due to the bending, both options should have rafters stays, probably in 2 locations up each rafter. All buildings should have site specific calculations, even...

fire proof walling for commercial units

I believe its the 80mm ks1000 panel you need to get +60mins fire integrity, but worth asking kingspan before ordering. Intumescent paint will depend on the use/location/ownership etc

fire proof walling for commercial units

Yes composite panel being used to the floor level now. This can be a freestanding wall panel that sits on the floor, or a standard composite panel fixed to cold rolled rails etc, if its a retrofit and you dont have internal columns then the freestanding ones are a good option. You can single...

fire proof walling for commercial units

Unless you get a written guarantee off your panel supplier building control will not sign off concrete panels as a firewall partition. Currently doing a 4 building site where this has happened and the panel order has been cancelled and now the partitions are being clad to floor level. Twin skin...

    Staff salary / hourly wage?

Only a 200acre farm so that's all the hours he is needed for, owner does the morning feed and son is required in for around 9:30am. Summer hours are more for harvest etc. He does do his own firewood splitting/drying/selling on the side on his own as a sideline business, so is usually out all...

    Staff salary / hourly wage?

Yes I bet, but not a lot of choice in our area. He did plumbing and electrics at college and got student of the year but couldn't find an apprenticeship.
