    Sealing concrete panels

Rather than a silicon based sealant I would use a sand and cement grout with sika waterstop. Amazing stuff. We use it in manholes to stop ingressing water between the joints on concrete rings.

    Wooden gates

Found a local gate company that will change the top rail for us thankfully. Tempted to just chance it but don't know how officious the grant inspector will be? The spec says to use a local type or the specification set in there book. No local type here, just metal ones!!!!! The grant is for new...

    Wooden gates

does anyone know where I can source some 12ft wooden gates. The top rail however has to be 125mm x 75mm minimum. Can find loads with 100mm x 75mm but none at 125mm. Grant specifies that it's got to be that size to pass.

    Roof slates

Alright Derek, we always find Tudors in hereford cheapest for roofing slates. Spanish much better than Chinese or Brazil ones. They sit better. Keep badgering them for price though, they will move

Clearing woodland to put to pasture

As the title says. Got 4 acres of woodland which we'd like to put back to pastureland. just an idea at the moment. What is the process we'd have to go through to do it, if it's possible at all. Mainly made up of hazel, holly, blackthorn, ash. all big trees. Not a conservation area, and would...

    Highlander on which ewes

We did see a lot of variation in the Rams and were very carful in what we bid on. We went for one that was more to the texel side snd less Romney looking. We could split some of the ewes from each bunch but really wanted to just keep it on one type for now and see how they go. Our tex x mules...

    Highlander on which ewes

Outdoor lambing is one of the reasons we've gone for them amongst other things. Looking forward to seeing how we get on with the ewe lambs that they produce this year. They'll be perfect for our system if they do what they say on the tin!!! Only apprehension we do have is if the lambs produced...

However my dad came back from market with some lovely chev x Welsh yearlings last week and now not sure what to put the ram to. Anyone running highlander Rams who have experience...

What round baler would you recommend?

Our New Holland 835 round baler ate itself yesterday. Been nursing it for a bit. We're looking to get another in the price range of £6000 to £7000. We only do about 400 bales a year, just wondering what people would recommend. Best model for reliability etc. we have a 90 horse power proxima...

    Cement fibre roof sheet strength

Got a net sorted now so all safe. Just tried an experiment with a sheet, put one on the floor on 2 perlings same distance that you would have on the roof. 3 of us stood on it and took our weight fine. I'm 16 stone so the sheets are well built!!!!!

    Cement fibre roof sheet strength

Perlings are spaced at 1.4 metres. Thinking might chuck some ply sheets up to spread the load. Lads I know who do a lot of shed building say there solid and won't be a problem.

    Cement fibre roof sheet strength

Got a few sheets to put on a shed, big 6 cement fibre. New bay on a shed. Will they comfortably take a mans weight? I know the old asbestos were very weak but I've been told the new sheets have nylon supports in them so can walk all over with no worries.
