We saw a couple of the pet lambs with a dot last year after not seeing any for years. Decided to vaccinate the ones on the machine this year and just seemed make the situation worse. Anything that was vaccinated seemed to get a facial outbreak. We put salt licks out , DB buckets, super soft...
Doesn’t look that way. They may contact to request additional information?? but it seems the online method may be a replacement for some of the RLE1 requests . I know that you still have make an RLE1 request is making significant changes to multiple field boundaries as I had to do one recently.
Worked it out . Go into land on your RPA online portal . Select Request Rural land changes , then select full land cover change. Select the field/fields and then make the necessary change in the drop down menu. Once submitted it says can take up to 28 days for the RPA to process the request...
I have a parcel of land that was down as PG01 permanent pasture in my 2023 BPS, it needs re sowing and I thought about putting it into AHL1 pollen and nectar mix . If I keep the land use code as PG01 it doesn’t give me the AHL1 option in the land uses section of the SFI scheme, but if I change...
We have been doing it for a few years now. Can get a few 1000 people spread over the holidays weekends, all pay in . As others have said, brief talk a few times a day , have a couple of easy lambing ewes to drop the occasional spring lambs , batch of chicks in the brooder, we don’t have the...
Have 2 ewes a week or some off lambing in a batch of 50 that have started star gazing

It’s lambing time we always get easterly’s at lambing . It’s the only bloody side of the shed that’s open. It will revert back to westerly’s when we finish. Wind from the east is no good for man nor beast.
Any suggestions on what companion crop to sow that will die back in winter , that will allow IPM3 payment with AHL2 ? And does it need to be under sown or is there anything that could be broadcast of the back of the DD and tickled in.
If it become compulsory It would be a dumb move by the suits in the ivory tower, low stocking the land for 5 weeks I reckon would be more effective as some stock would nip the grasses back a bit and stop the herbs and legumes getting smothered out. Just don’t have it like a billiards table.
Yes but it’s not compulsory, it should only be used as a guide, it also says that. From experience herbal leys can take a few years to establish, I can’t see them failing someone for attempting to establish a ley if a few species die off, Most likely any sanfoin in a mix will fail on most...
I’d disagree, unless you are a multi cut silage man, you could still drill a high sugar silage or grazing mix predominantly made up of perennials. graze or take 2 cuts and as long as you allow the herbs and legumes chance to grow to me it looks like you will meet the criteria.
