Is Acreage based of surface area or a Birds Eye view

Hi, A quick and potentially silly question. Would a 100 acre hill farm for example, have more farmable surface area than a 100 acre flat farm? If acreage was based off a satellite Birds Eye view I suppose it would?

Price for Steep and Overgrown land

My grandparents sold 14 acre here for £40k ish just 3 years ago, so land prices in the area have been reasonable, but do suspect that they will have shot up in recent years due to the lack of land on the market.

Price for Steep and Overgrown land

Price for Steep and Overgrown land

Yeah, both good points. My thought process is that the owner might rather sell the derelict farm house with the better quality land attached, and he may be more willing to let the poorer stuff go now, as the poor land may dilute his price per acre when he sells the lot.

Price for Steep and Overgrown land

Hi All. There is an disused 150 acre farm next to ours, and the land has really deteriorated in the past 20 years. We could never afford to buy the whole thing or the better parts of the land, but have thought about making an offer on the land that is in worse condition, with the plan of slowly...

Sheep Grazing on a Solar Farm

@Bury the Trash - thanks for the response. I had read 2 articles online which say ‘The solar owner will pay the Farmer to keep vegetation in check’ and ‘The Farmer is paid an annual fee to manage the pasture’. I am happy to just take the free grazing, but wanted to check I wasn’t missing out on...

Sheep Grazing on a Solar Farm

Hi. I have an option to keep sheep on a 40 acre solar site, with details of the arrangement to still be to confirmed. Has anyone entered into similar agreements, if so, is it usually just as simple as getting the free grazing, with no money changing hands? Some people have suggested that the...
