    High hour 7485

My work has just chopped one of them in, just the same but an 11 plate with 12000 odd hours on. Had it from about 2000 hours old. was a belting tractor and was sorry to see it go.

    Fendt exhaust brake

Once accidently pressed it in an 818 whilst ploughing. A lot of years ago now but I'm pretty sure it was an intercooler pipe it blew off, Quick easy fix but a linkage ball was placed over it from then on.

    fendt and Reliability

There isn't a brand out there that hasn't had a few bad eggs. The 828 from Fendt is one example I think everyone knows they should have come with a spare engine. That being said I think its hard to argue that they aren't top of the tree when it comes to overall reliability across the ranges.

    best dealer boots

For durability I've not come across anything to touch V12 rawhides, compared to some they're very decent value too although as with any other dealer boot type ankle support isn't the greatest. For something a bit different I've had a couple of pairs of scruffs switchbacks too, probably the most...

    Lemken plough

They look like the 30deg rings? They will struggle on light stuff. The 45's go much better, I've never had to pull ours backwards to clear, if it does start balling up just slowing down usually clears it. I find usually its caused by taking my eye off the ball and letting the front furrow get...

    Recommend me a drone.

I have a dji mavic pro 2. Great bit of kit, most recently use for looking for my dog that had buggered off, can cover and see so much in such a short space of time. They reckon to have a range of 6 miles, but wouldn't recommend it. Battery life is about 20-25 mins so would probably run out...

    Fastrac demount sprayer

I used to drive a 2135 4ws with landquip demount 24m. Great outfit for its day, still miss it a bit now tbh. Jack on each corner to wind it up and drive out easy enough, if your a good shot backing back in then easy enough back on too, used to take ours on and off fairly regularly. When she...

    quick fixes, bodges and creations

Boss found me some stainless tube from a local guy a lump cheaper than an £1800 exhaust from fendt. Been waiting for a wet day for a while to get it tadged on.

Question for large hectares /long hours sprayer operators.

Boss here is always keen for us to have days off, probably more keen than us at times! There's more than one of us that can do each job, so its possible the majority of the time if we want. I'd just rather just do my jobs myself though. Happy to work as much as is needed when the going is...

    Valtra T 140, 03 shift problems.

I had a T150 that lost a power shift, was a clutch pack. They’re a set of clutch plates sat in like a basket, the plates were fine but it had shoved the bottom of the basket out. Hope it’s not that for you if I remember rightly I’m sure it was a 30-40 hour job at main dealer.

    Nexat gantry system

I've watched a few too, really like the concept and they do have a handful of machines dotted around for their trials. Problem with it being that its an entirely new thing thats either jump in with both feet or not at all. Nothing even remotely similar around that I know of. By the looks of...

    G M Stephenson

Decent straight bloke and good to deal with in my experience.

    Bale chasers

Over the years I had nh6080, jd6930 and a fendt 716 on a heath, all handled it well enough, power quad box in the jd wasnt the best for it though, gearstick and joystick on the same hand limited the performance somewhat back then when I didnt mind bouncing about so much. Think I'd just stay in...

    Bale chasers

Not much in them price wise. The Arcusin is a fair bit more refined and fully automatic so much easier on the operator to use. Not actually that complicated once you look round them and understand how they work. The heath probably has a slight edge on speed, but your on the joystick working...

    Tractor Tyres

Just replaced trelleborgs with bkt on a big tractor I drive price being the main driver in new brand choice. They seem to grip ok, but have to run at lower pressures to achieve it compared to the trellies. They’d done 9000 hours. Don’t suppose we’ll have it long enough to see if the bkts will...
