Looking advice. I’ve a batch of lambs in the shed getting ready for them to be clipped. They have been Heptavac’d, got Zolvix, mineral dosed - pretty much everything they could get and getting a taste of nuts as well but a few have started coughing. They are on straw bedding and eating hay. All...
Quick question…..
How many days / weeks before lambing would you see a teat appear? Some due to lamb from next week but next to no teat on them yet. Been getting fed 5 weeks pre lambing steadily increasing each week and now at the limit getting 2lb a day split evenly over 2 feeds (morning and...
No reason that I can pinpoint. All clear of worms, got double Heptavac’d, get Vitamin drenched etc.
I’m thinking that it is probably the same as every year or very similar but because I have every weight in front of me in black and white it makes you sit back and look at the results more and...

1 batch averaging 35.5kg
1 batch averaging 31.6kg
And the last batch averaging 27.5kg albeit this batch are not even 12-14...
How much meal do people feed ewes post lambing? And what date do they feed them to?
Usually feed 2kg per day (split over 2 feeds) before weaning down to 1 feed and feed til middle of May time.
What’s everyone’s thoughts?
When does everyone house their ewes that are in lamb?
I usually house 3/4 weeks before lambing but tempted to house a bit earlier this year and footbath them once a week / 10 days to try and keep feet problems to a minimum.
Whats everyone’s thoughts?
