Hmmm. I think I am going to give the j flail a go. I find that my whale tails are more beating the grass into submission than cutting, but then again, I haven't kept them sharp.
I have a Bomford flail mower and the stock whale tail flails will need replacing next year. I recall a few threads on this in the past. Was it Y tails that were deemed the best as all rounders in grass, rushes and an occasional bit of bramble?
It wasn't the V6 model. I don't know what the build time is for those. It was for the previous engined model. I had to look up the details though. It wasn't a "limited". It was an "ultimate" edition. Sorry for causing confusion...
I suppose if you are cutting continuously throughout the year, then this would be something for me to worry about, but with my relative light use, I guess I'll stick with Stihl.
