    Pottinger Mowers

I have the front arms but no PTO. The plan was to get the rear mower this year, and within the next 2 years get the front PTO and front mower also. I would think my tractor would be plenty big for the heavy mower at the back, MF 7718?

It would be the 4.3m cut with no conditioner I would be going for. Am i correct in saying JD mowers and Kuhn mowers are the same machine?

What year are they? I am probably going to have to change my DeLaval robots now before Christmas and was looking at the new Boumatic as an option

    Pottinger Mowers

What are peoples opinion/experiences with Pottinger grass kit. I am thinking about buying a Novacat mower and a 6 rotor tedder, a bit out of touch with this type of plant, the last mower we had was a 10ft trailed. I am confident we will get a good service from the dealer. The mower would just...

    Robotic milking

I do my vaccinating just walking around the shed, usually take the wife with my and she ticks off the cows as I jag them. My cows are quite used to being jagged like that as I be doing fertility programmes every week. TB test for us is a bit of a nightmare, we have to take the cows out to an...

    Robotic milking

Are your Classic robots old? Mine has been running just over 5 years and is very reliable, my V300 is about 3 months younger and the components in it would be quite soft in comparison.

    Robotic milking

The main difference attachment wise would be Classics work with lasers and the V300's use a 3d camera

    Robotic milking

I run a V300 and a Classic. The classic can hold its own if it has good uddered cows on it.

Usually keep my 2 DeLavals somewhere between 10-15% free time. There is a sweet spot somewhere in there of getting the highest flow rate but also not holding back the cows individual performance.

    Which tub mixer

I was going to ask, what size of tractors are people using for a 24 cube? I have a 14 cube SiloKing and it is a hard drive, I run it on a Ford 8210 (which should be round that 100) and the tractor is running hard. So much so I have done the head gasket and scored the cylinders (I know age is...

Vet students looking for dairy farm placement

I could take somebody if they are willing to get at it. All year round calving here on 2 DeLaval robots but there are quite a few extra calvings due in April with some heifers coming in. Based in Limavady, Northern Ireland

    Transition Cow Shed

Dry cows and heifers in cubicles (it helps the heifers get accustomed to the cows before they hit the milking shed). 3 weeks off the calving cows then get moved to a straw shed, then 1 week from calving they get moved to a smaller straw shed (usually only 3-4 cows at a time together).
