Set to renew our PPA for one year, but quotes are coming in under the FiT Export tariff. Does anyone have an idea which companies are offer the export tariffs, it appears the smaller companies are not obliged...
Make sure that any covenants by deed run with the land i.e. obligates the first & all subsequent owners by succession/chain of covenants. Positive covenants (requiring the owner to do something) can be difficult to enforce, so it is better to place restrictive covenants i.e. ensure fence does...
This is an interesting question at the moment given the uncertainty around Brexit. The rise in power prices this year has been driven by the two main inputs, wholesale gas prices (which have risen by ~30% ytd) & carbon emissions prices (which have risen by a factor of ~2.5x). This has taken...
For those with an interest the wholesale UK Power prices can be tracked via

Click Win18 (proxy for quoted PPA prices) & 2 years to get the historic chart. Recently prices have been supported by low gas stocks...
We previously arranged insurance with Naturesave, they are still only a broker. It is another company (most likely one of the above) that underwrite the insurance. When I contacted them in 2016 they were were unable to provide a quote for our turbine at the time.
Anyone had much luck with reinsuring an Endurance turbine recently? Brokers I have spoken to suggest many of the insurers are pulling out insuring this size of turbine (Allianz/HSB). RSB are only offering mechanical breakdown for existing customers, Aviva are not covering mechanical breakdown...
Still not absolutely clear, but it looks that March 2016 is more likely now...

The Ofgem doc only refers to FiT PV, but we might see an update on FiT Wind in next couple of weeks based on historic publication schedule of FiT degressions. The Lords vote the week before last only impacted on the proposed ROC changes (closing one year earlier than planned), but we might see...
Indeed, game on for the moment. Although note the caveat at the bottom
"THESE TARIFFS ARE PUBLISHED BASED ON LEGISLATION IN FORCE AS OF THE DATE OF PUBLICATION"
Ofgem have today published prospective FiT rates covering the period 1st Jan - 31 Mar (using usual degression mechanism), so it appears as though the original 1st Jan proposal has indeed been pushed back to either the earlier of the 1st April or the point at which the new legislation is...
Hi Mike, Any idea on whether existing preliminary accreditation will be honoured for 6 months? I put an 80kW rooftop solar prelim accreditation application in on Tuesday morning in anticipation of support being completely removed this week. I presume it takes a few weeks to validate before...
No problems with generator temps, cut outs mainly associated with wind speed, so we lose output until wind gets back below 15m/s. On two occasions we have gone into overspeed condition (i.e. generator off & can't apply brakes), so have to wait until wind gets back below 3m/s for Endurance to try...
