Any helpful tips for getting rid of crows? Have spent today chasing about 60 crows round and round our winter barley fields. I've 2 bangers going randomly, about 20 CDs hanging on posts blowing in the wind and a bunch of plastic bags tied around doing the same.

Any other suggestions greatfully received before the destroy what was already some ropey looking winter barley.

We have a similar problem on our winter wheat...they land in the tramlines and pull down the crop to get at the ears. They will have taken out several acres by harvest...! We have some Spaldings kites which work for a day or two but with and deterrent all you do is to move them to another field.

They have cleared a couple of acres of BG infested Winter Barley here ! Plenty of Pigeons around as well !!
I am now thinking of cutting the barley at a painful 20% just so it is in the shed and not the crows!!!

Leave a few dead ones belly up, wings outstretched where they are landing in the flat crop / tramlines, hang a few more dead ones from fence posts and trees. You will need a steady supply of dead ones as they will get scavenged.
