Interesting Ferguson Loader

Noticed this historical H&S nightmare for sale locally. Is it an original Ferguson tool?

Jeepers what a ghastly thing..! Can't work out how it would work as that pipe sticking up doesn't look like a ram as it extends too far. Off the three point linkage somehow???

That's a JCB loader they made to fit a Ferguson. I think they were called a Si-draulic
Not a lot about.

Seems its a ram pivoted at the bottom of the outer casing click for more

Hand forking was fairly ingrained though. Uncle once told me they were mucking out the 'big pig shed' as it was known. Back a trailer in and hand fork it on, gradually backing down the shed. Tractor packs up so they go and borrow a neighbours and it's got a loader and muck fork on! They hooked it on and carried on with the hand forks and when they finished the tractor owner turned up, pointed at the loader and said "why didn't you use that?"

Looking at it you can see why they must be rare. Most operators were probably killed or severely injured. Lucky the big baler hadn't been invented in those days.

That is exactly what'd my dad would do now if he was left to do it on his own, with his two replacement hips, bad knees and back.

We would do the same today, because the tractor loader was on lend, glad to get it, not abuse kit belonging to someone else.
To be honest we probably wouldn't ask for the lend of it, in the first place.

Does that say tef 30 ? Perkins engine?
Looks like a tef 20 to me with the normal standard engine

IIRC the loader was foreign too built or supplied by JCB under license?

Not many of them about are there? What age would it be?

Just found out the loader was a Bamford design, about 2000 were built under licence in France by Hydro Fource.
