Not a lot if you want to do anything more than a pony paddock..

Even then I reckon the machine just might need a week's remedial work before finishing the paddock. Its a bit of a lottery. Even my immaculate NH only did 45 bales before needing a set of packer bearings and the holders for those were worn as well. If I was desperate to do more I would have had to have a contractor or wait for costly professional repairs or buckle down to emergency DIY.

As it was, I had plenty of time to do it myself with bearings from Bearing Man [or whatever they're now called] and a set of tools before fourth cut silage about eight weeks later when it made another 40 bales odd at two per acre.

Cheap kit is fine if you have the patience, skill and knowledge to keep them running. But if your going to start using a main dealer to keep it running, then you may as well spend the extra cash on something tidy.. Imo..

Ting is we only do around 100 bales and i do like the trusty old machinery ,also a cheaper old reliable baler will pay for its self in a year or 2 minus the cost of contractors Cheers

Got a static gallignani on 500 film and a Trailed Lawrence Edwards on 750. Both oldish but straight and tidy.
Can't commit to any prices as both control boxes are away being overhauled but they will be priced sensibly

Probably worth it if it is not worn out. There is a Class 46 on Ebay down in Haverford West for similar money. I was going to look at it but we bought a baler nearer to us.
