Brexit postponed

Theresa May flew for 3 hours to Florence, at our expense, in order to give a 35 minute speech to an audience whose most prominent members were her own Cabinet.

Brexit, like Paradise, is now to be postponed for two years as an 'implementation period'. A clearer admission that art 50 was triggered prematurely you will not find.

Now that the infamous article has been triggered, a postponement is beyond the UK's powers. Either that, or an extension of our membership of the Internal Market and the Customs Union, is wholly within the gift of the EU27.

Mrs May assumes the EU27 will consent, but will they? And who is 'they' - the European Parliament with QMV? or would it require unanimity amongst members States? And aren't they bound to ask 'if Brexit is such a good idea, why do you want to delay it?'

In a EU kind of mode, Johnny Logan won the Eurovision all those years ago with a dreamy ditty called "What's another year"!

A trip to Florence on a lovely sunny day like this sounds nice. Do you know if she took in many sights?
