Our cows are still out during the day but are virtually eating a full ration at night. That will be 5 months grazing for us this year and hopefully push well into month 6 as we still have a lot of grass about. Living the dream!!

Some 5th cut. Mowed yeterday. Rake today and bale tomorow. Hope it will dry the field inbetween rows for carting the bales off. Ground is soft. But drying well today. Be glad to finish the silage this year. No 3 days of weather together since June I feel. Excellent grass growth mind.

Managed to get our 3rd cut yesterday . 147 bales off 16 acres !! Not that wet ,wind had helped dry it quite a bit ! Had needed cutting for the last 3 weeks really but had held off as its rented ground and then the weather ensued !
Was enough on it (like a smaller first cut)to not have to rake and the baler mans Fusion liked the flat even feed . He said how there would have been loads more soil in it if we had scrathed it into one great swath ,plus the baler makes some horrible bales that noone would want to try moving with our Traileyre;)
Would have held off till today or tomorrow ,to let ground dry but when do we get 3 goodish days together:rolleyes:

Anyway , a relieved man today , all stacked and carted/wrapped by 10 last night(y)
