After market air brakes

Hi everyone, just wondering has many people on here retro fitted air brakes on a T7 model new holland? If so Is it a big job and also is it expensive? Any feedback greatly appreciated [emoji106]

Never done one on a Ford , put some on MF tractors , not a big job with the right kit , kits are about £2500 or were when we bought them, 2 days tops to fit

This might not be entirely relevant, but it cost around £4K to be fitted to a John Deere 7930 by a dealer. The fiddly bit was fitting the valves under the cab and to the brake pedals.

I would ring Tractair for a price for a kit to fit your tractor. They should also have instructions if you want to fit it yourself.

You could speak with your dealer and see what a DIA kit would be on stock order or there's a few companies that make aftermarket kits. I did it on a Tm175 a few years ago by buying second hand parts and making others, took me a few days but saved a lot of money.

£500 for a tractair kit on our mccormick tho that was new but cant be that dear for the kit

The genuine NH kit for a short wheel base T7 Tier 4A is £3200 retail, you should be able to get some good discount off that though.

Fitting involved taking the cab partially off, so lots of labour.

Any new tractor on the farm gets air brakes factory fitted now - much cheaper and we get through less tractor brake discs since fitting commercial air axles to the trailers.

That’ll be the default from 1 January. No bad thing if you can stomach the prices of new gear.

Unless it's a 40kph tractor and then it doesn't apply, they have to have dual line hydraulic couplers fitted instead.
