PRC. Houses eg Airey house ??

Have any of you had a PRC house re clad with brick/imitation stone ,plus doing all the other work to get them up today’s building requirements.
It must cost a fortune to do the above work.

Done a couple ,jacked the roof up dug a footing all the way round ,knocked out about 15 ft at a time rebuilt with 2skins of block work with insulation

That sounds a really major and expensive job. I guess that is the only option if one wants to bring the house up to scratch.
The old lady my wife is estate administrator to,has a pair side by side. As the old lady has dementia and in her nineties I expect they will leave them as is, and let the nephews sort it out when they eventually inherit the estate.
My wife’s concern is that the houses will not meet new insulation regs that are coming in to force in the not too distant future.

Ineresting. There are a number in this part of Suffolk. I suppose they were the next along from the Amersham pre-fab. As @skinnyhoskins has said the standard refurbisment is to build a new insulated pair of walls. IMO a cheap home if you can afford to do this work as the buildings exist & there are no issues with planning except keeping to the building regulations.
