I agree we've had reasonable ministers and ready useless ones up to date.

Why can't agricultural / environment have ministers with common sense for
God Sake, !!
I feel these Guys including Tax men and all the red tape only
bring Depression on to the country
people who's trying to look after the
country side with one arm tided .!
As we know the City people comes to walk foot paths and what do they do,
Let their dogs loose chaseing and damage farm stock
Why don't these ministers sort it out!!
So are we fools with all the nonsense?

The whole "countryside" thing is a William Morris inspired urban myth.

The best thing the public could do to help nature is to keep out of the countryside along with their dogs, vehicles etc.

I was born in the countryside but I lived in the city for 20 years. During that time I didn't work in the countryside so felt there was no point in visiting it. I was happy in the city when I worked in the city. Urban living wasn't all bad. The suburbs were pleasant enough and there was plenty to do if you took an interest in things,

I just don't get this drive to get people roaming about in the countryside amongst Clegs, pollen, heat, and all sorts of things. I don't think people are that desperate to visit anyway. There's absolutely FA for anybody who doesn't work here to do. Holidays bore me sick anyway.

Thats a bit iunfair on a fair few politicians who have made there intents blatantly obvious to all. Among them of course are Jeremy Corbyn and Jacob Rees Mogg to name but two.
Of course most of those most honest politicians are also some of those with the most odious intent

I'd like to think Rees Mogg is a decent chap - I do rate him far higher than Mrs May - but I fear he'd still want lots of imports.

Only time will tell.

He was checking out the talent..........

No doubt he was, but got to respect a top politician prepared to actually walk and talk alone amonst a very large group of farmers.
Very different to a tory farm minister whose wife had to drag him out of hiding to speak to us at a tory conference...
Have known 3 Nick Browns in positions of power and all 3 were top blokes

Yes,he came across very well, some politicians have the knack of mingling with the electorate, something dare I say it Jeremy Corbin seems to be able to do.

It’s all about not having a chip on your shoulder.

Rees Mogg is a clever and decent person but i feel he can't sell him self to the public As old Corbyn can put it over so smooth just what the public will stop and listen to Im afraid. I feel Mrs May and several of her Gov is in the fog not sure which way to turn !!!.

In the UK, an MP’s wage is peanuts for high caliber people

The assumption is that the privilege of 'serving' the country is sufficient recompense in itself... A sad corollary to what you have written is that for many very low quality people an MP's wage is a remarkably high income... :banghead:

He' is a fine fellow in every way but one - he thinks the Pope is infallible and believes all the other attached guff too. All that being so, nonetheless, JC would be obliterated in a face to face debate with JRM.
