Hmm... my gut tells me that the EU will allow an extension for a hefty price, financial, trade / fishing etc., or both... Orban is probably posturing for more cash or some such.

I dislike Orban, he is very close to being a fascist in many ways but, although I wouldn't shake his hand, I'd be very glad if he were to veto an extension.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if the Remainer MPs - a majority, remember - were to vote to revoke Art. 50... they really do seem to have that much contempt for their electors.

Edit: then again, if they won't vote for another referendum, maybe they wouldn't. Probably just water down Brexit as much as possible.

Good to see you back @Pasty.
Your Stephen Barclay stood up at dispatch box yesterday and advocated that the house voted for the government......and then promply defied the whip and voted against it himself. Can we ever take him seriously in his future career again? As far as i know, this has never been done by any government cabinet minister ever.

They do not have contempt for their electors,or constituents. They have care....real care! They know that a no deal would cause severe economic harm to the vast majority.Mean while,in the real world on the Beef and Lamb tracker thread,we are discussing the tariff effect on lamb exports to the EU post Mar 29 with no deal.Forecast to drop from £80 to £50 head!

define severe economic harm ? The average WTO tariff will raise prices less than the drop in currency has and export tariffs have been more than wiped out by the drop in the pound. You remainers keep spouting armagedon but Ive not seen one put facts to it

The removal of virtually all manufacturing that requires a customs union and depends on a EU supply chain.

The removal of all UK Legal, Law and Audit services working in the EU.

The removal of data from the UK and its associated businesses and services cant operate as a third county.

The removal of any non EU corporate headquarters to the EU and is assocated jobs.

The removal of huge sums of tax bearing capital to the EU.

I could go on...

Hey ho f**k business and lets all plant turnips.

Have just looked it up. NI has a deficit of £5014/person. Wales is £4251. In fact, the only areas to run surpluses are London, south east and east. And the UK as a whole runs a 2% deficit. We are coming out of 30 years of bombing and destruction caused by a small minority that's very very bad for business. What's Wales' excuse? And the south west, and Scotland, with it's oil.

Puts it into perspective don't you think!

In more simple terms-

Locally -
1 sheep = 100 turnips

London pays
50 turnips for 1 sheep and they control the market.

Simples as our idiot PM says.

A FEW companies have announced they are establishing new bases in the EU to enable them to avoid red tape that is very different picture to what you have posted above .

Foreign investment has increased since the vote and is the highest ever, while Im not a huge fan of selling our companies abroad in some circumstances, but these figures show that investors with serious money still believe that the UK is the place to do business.

Take up of office space in london "surged" last year according to city AM and other agents say there is a shortage of space so even the city is still investing .
Will there be some downsides to brexit yes there may well be but any business worth its salt will grab the opportunities it also provides

Always amusing to see the Left pushing a "Problem" such as "EU supply chain".

Whilst also pushing "Climate Change taxes" and "Pollution reductiion".

Of course the Left are mentally ill or unstable.

Roll on the complete and utter annihilation of Socialism and Liberalism.

Don't forget the centralisation of assets, grants, infrastructure, head quarters, legal and politics is London.

There is no mistake that London takes most of the UK's assets & money never mind profits.

Works both ways.

Perhaps the EU shouldn't have "f**k UK business" for 40 years eh ?

Remember Liberals & Socialists .. you reap what you sow.

None of the above makes any sense.
1. EU supply chain is a integral part of UK businesses
2.climate change is real folks like it or not and the reduction of pollution will require legislation.
3. All political views are unstable (currently)
4. The more you oppress poor folks then more socialism will appear (Moores Law for politics) and liberalism is just a Tory with guilt.

Over and out off to the pub to annoy the local facist junta :) its not easy but someones gotta do it.

Enjoy your pint, i have corrected your post for you and climate change is real yes but lets not forget planes cause far more pollution with fumes above cloud cover than cows burping in a carbon neutral field .

The EU hasn't fu*ked any UK business. They have been quite capable of doing that all by themselves. Greed, poor regulation on ownership and short-termism in the financial markets are the culprits. Something that is controlled a bit more in other EU countries.
