ARLA now require us to add year of manufacture and tank capacity for AG+. We have a s/h ROKA and as far as I can see it's not stamped on the plate. Any ideas before I have to contact ARLA or ROKA?

How does the age of your tank alter the milk in it?

Just put the year you think it is!

One of my tanks is circa 1969,they don’t make em like they used too!

The idea is to get a general overview of the age of the tanks on farm right across the whole Arla membership, you have to remember that the same questions get asked in Arlagarden plus regardless of which country you are in. They are trying to see if their is any correlation between age of tanks and collection temperatures of the milk but unfortunately their wasn’t the option of having a don’t know box for those who aren’t sure of the age of their tank. So it will have to be a best guess and if your milk is always cold you have nothing to worry about.

Fonterra own all the silos in nz, if arla did a similar thing it would negate all this faff

Nice idea but if you work out the amount of money that would take, it is an eye watering sum which would actually have to come out of the owners pockets. Wait a minute........

apparently the tanker drivers around our way to fill in forms on the tanks again about 3 inch outlets and stuff on milk tanks. either information been lost or people are just wasting time and money.
does that mean they are going to try and do a thermadoric thing that if the milk isnt cool by 30 minutes after milking itll text the tanker driver not to pick up the milk?

Nothing sinister like that. Some farmers have installed the 3” outlet but not informed Ag manager so not collecting the bonus, some have notified but not had visit etc. So a general tidying up exercise doesn’t cost anything really but clears up loads of loose ends.

Rather than pay a bonus for 3 Inch and flex collections
Just thoughts, full of holes most probably but just thoughts
