Apparently, the industrious Chinese will have built a temporary hospital here in 10 days time..:scratchhead:. Should have quoted for the HS2 job.

Well maybe the population is about to get smaller with the new Chinese virus killing a few off.

Now if this was foot and mouth every animal would be at a standstill until it was contained !

Yet thousands of Chinese are allowed to travel around the World, possibly infecting and spreading an unknown virus to every Country.

So glad I live in a fairly remote area and not squashed in a tube train everyday with sneezing and coughing Asians !!

I find that an appalling post.

Granted this appears to have orginated in a live animal market.

But if the disease had started in fur & feather market at Newcastle would you have used the same type of language?

I'm not sure what is wrong with the post !?! The way the Chinese have suddenly reacted to the virus, then maybe it is quite serious !!

I was just pointing out that if this was an animal disease, affecting only animals, then there would have been a complete lock down and containment............. wether that was f and m, bird flu, swine fever etc etc.

Does that mean that animals are far more important than humans !!

Well I do support containment. Which to be fair the Chinese are now trying very hard to do.

But your post sort of points suspicion at Orientals or may be all Asians.

Sort of ignoring that white business men are justly as likely to bring it back with them, in deed the USA are sending planes to bring back their own people rightly or wrongly. I do suspect they will be straight into quarantine.

Then again, if you didn't know what was wrong with your post you will never know.

Very hard which does actually raise concern that the outbreak is actually a lot worse than is being reported. Ramifications being that all and sundry will still be traveling and hence spread it yet further. Some very contradictory stories doing the rounds on Twitter re numbers infected etc but then everyone knows not to believe everything they read on Social media.

Looks like it's just something else we are going to have suck up. I can't see how it's going to be contained.
The focus now needs to be on how to alleviate the symptoms and help people get over it, particularly the most vulnerable.
Rushing to a hospital if you think you might have it might be worsening the situation

All credit to the Chinese for trying but they are almost faced with mission impossible trying to contain this. It will spread here but is it any worse than a bad dose of flu that causes many fatalities every year?

Is it true, that these novel virus's "crossbreed" with the regular virus & USUALLY become less serious.

So like you say it will become a part of the regular flu, but it will be a cruel 12 months & we may lose relatives until a vaccine is developed.

The 1918, Spanish flu was so bad because it did not take the weak it took the strong. It caused an over reaction of the immune system & victems died of drowning so many body fluids in the lungs. We have not been told the age range of the victims, this is a worry.

I don't know the answers but our thoughts go out to all those bravely battling with this disease at this very difficult time.

Very true.

The experts will find an answer, all we can do is trust them.

I'm not convinced that putting everyone who has a high temp in one hospital is a good idea. Rows of chatlets may have been a better idea, then use it as housing in years to come.

If I get it, I shall isolate myself with plenty of drugs & food & just hope. I'm sure that is safer than in a hospital. I do have space though, I admit that.

There was an expert on the radio who was not convinced on lock downs either, in that they can encourage those not locked down to flee.

Not sure it’s the smartest move to repatriate 200 of our citizens from Wuhan especially as the Chinese say that the virus transmits without symptoms

I would find it reasonably easy to isolate myself. Trouble is family would bring it here with them.
I once thought that no longer having kids at school would reduce the number of colds I get. Nope, grandchildren bring them now.

I was planning to isolate myself, post infection & try to sleep it off, combined with plenty of vit C & water. 97% do live, I'm reasonably confident, would not want to be in hospital picking up more bugs.
