Before all this shite we used to go out or get a takeaway once a week. Now the misses goes to the butchers (we had never gone there before) to buy steaks/ lambs chops or belly pork every Saturday. We have saved a fortune on eating out and have much better meals because of it (we can both have a drink), this trend will keep on going imo.I don’t have any prices this week but the Mrs let me loose on the grocery shopping today on the way to the ag merchant.
Local butcher usually has a ‘turkey tent’ he puts up outside every Christmas for folk to queue in out of the weather. It usually gets taken down on Christmas Eve. This year the tent is still up as the queues keep coming- queue was ten people long this morning with 4 tills running. Business flying apparently
I'm sure people have sold them, but would you want to buy them. I think that I wouldn't sell that I wouldn't be happy to buy. You where complaining a couple of weeks ago that someone had sold you crap so why would you want to do the same to someone else!Anyone ever sold there problems as couples? Got 4 ewes with 1 quarter, 1 Csection, an adoption, a prolapse ewe and 1 that’s lame 95% of its life and finally walking on all 4 that iv put cull tags in last couple of days but wondering would they be worth anything as couples? I know most couples buyers kill them lambs and the ewes so wouldn’t bother them.... and they get a bit carried away hand waving at times......

Just get on and sell them, as you said before most units bought now will be culled, the buyers will see the problems before biddingThere’s a difference between selling stuff that’s not fit and hiding it too fudge somebody over and declaring that stuff has problems so everybody involved is fully aware of what they’re buying....
I seen a shearling ewe with twins at Ruthin with a bad bag and 2 lambs that came with half a bag of milk powder and a bottle make £230 if I remember rightly...a couple weeks ago and got me thinking.....
I thought 75% of couples we this way .....Anyone ever sold there problems as couples? Just state the faults and sell them...no one will worry if the 1 quarter ewes only have singles...the c...section these things happen....the prolapse one i would keep and cull when the lambs fatI thought 75% of couples we this way .....
You might find the Mrs will have an opinion on that !!Before all this shite we used to go out or get a takeaway once a week. If she had any opinions on things like that she would have left me years ago!You might find the Mrs will have an opinion on that !!
Anyone kill cattle at Woodheads at Colne? Got 20 shorthorn bullocks going there on Tuesday which they have diverted from Turriff. Just wondering what grading and trimming like. @Northeastfarmer
Be happy with that. Maybe get some photos tomorrow when we have them drawn out.An O+ will kill out at 51-52% R at 53-55 -U 56-57 U+58-60. That’s as a % of on farm weights from full bellied cattle. Usually very consistent but you do get the odd outlier.
