Like the look of that, front press under the hopper looks a good idea to take the weight off.

It seemed the logical thing to do and spreads the weight nicely.
My dad's cousin who was a steel fabricator made up a adaptor for me to marry the 4 mounting points of the hopper to the 3 on the press.

Have you tried injecting the digest using strip tillage yet?
No, we put it on in advance with trailing shoe into the cover crop. We would not want to complicate the drilling operation more, but if we went to RTK then we might try injecting and later drilling into the injected slots.

Before cover crops we had to really hammer some of our headlands, now it is so easy to get a nice tilth

I think the biggest issue in the region is too much maize in the rotation and some unsympathetic soils which hang wet or contain a great deal of clay that doesn't respond to being pummelled too regularly. Ultimately the place grows grass nearly for fun and I think a lot of farms have put more emphasis on this since 2012.
