Farm office is getting a revamp just now. What to put on floor?

Smooth concrete underneath.

Lineo?
Laminated timber?
Vinyl flooring?

Vinyl seems to be the most hard wearing according to one supplier?

That safety flooring type stuff, same as hospital corridors etc. It’s not as cheap as lino but comes in sheets. We had to put it down in a rental property, went for plank pattern, looks really well. Need to sort out our utility now and thinking of going for something similar but without a pattern as there’s nothing square there!!

8am tomorrow morning thats the type of stuff we've got going down, wood plank effect industrial vinyl, we tread too much muck and grit in for anything else to last.

We have underfloor heating everywhere apart from utility room,it’s really an outbuilding that’s stuck to the house so not really appealing to tile it sane as rest of house as it’s really cold to run to washing machine, toilet, freezer etc when it’s nice and warm in rest of house

theres kitchen tiles in my office ,easy to mop clean doesnt harbour dust or muck plus the dog under the desk keeps you company .it s a shared space but has the effect of ensuring the paper work is done and filed , its always warm in winter due to the aga and coffee and bickies are readily available only downside is the other occupant can be a bit fiesty at times

In our utility building I used simple paving slabs. Slightly smooth so easily cleanable but not slippery. 400mm x 400mm was a good size to handle and of course there's electric underfloor heat. After twelve years of use I don't regret my decision. Future proofed as I can, because if there's an'oliday mode idea in this could be the wash room. Toilet drains all there quietly waiting.

This would be my choice. If you remember to ask for welded joints and upstand it looks very smart and as it goes as high as a skirting board it’s very easy to keep clean with a quick mop. The non slip stuff can be a pig to mop if your house proud though. Luckily I’ve got a scrubber dryer machine in the van.

Might that be because your office is the kitchen…?! Sounds rather like it to me! 😂
