Blenky resigns?

Problem is, they don't want to let RT become optional. Why? Because they know feed mills won't care a dam if the grain is RT or not, as these mills know it's grown to UK legislative standards - and our own government, DEFRA and FSA consider this grain to be safe.
The above is the quote of the thread. (y)

As we have all been saying from day one - and I said to RT when they asked me why I dropped them: we are being asked / forced to pay people to 'assure' that we are doing what the law requires us to do anyway... :banghead:

RT gives no added value to farmers whatsoever. Every deal you do with anyone in this country holds the term that you are following the laws you need to, whatever they are, if not explicit this is implicit, it's legally cast iron and applies to everything.

Verbal agreement, written contract or what have you, the Courts have ruled this for many decades, it's good law and in and of itself alone makes the whole RT scheme pointless.

Very well done @Grass And Grain and @Clive, we'll get there. (y):)

Agree. AIC standard contract (attached) means we agree to deliver grain in such a condition that additional "assurance" given by RT is just superfluous baggage.

just a little mention for Dairy . and I suppose sheep& beef farmers as well. Reading all the comments about RT on various forums, you would think RT only impacted on grain. Hello!! We go through the wringer as well and not to be a member is not an option for us.
I think most of us are aware of your situation but one has to start at the thin end of the wedge. Attacking the fact that dairy members have no choice isnt going to bring RT down, but attacking the unfairness of grain imports will

Thanks. It's not just us two though, in fact far from it.

Behind the scenes there's a group of us working together. Forum members have been compaining about the backstabbing incident, writing to AHDB, NFU, AIC, RT, MP's etc.

Too many people involved to mention individually, but certainly a very determined group effort (y)

Let’s not turn this thread into a NFU debate please guys

it distracts from the good news about backstapper Blenky !

the NFU are becoming pretty irrelevant anyway now so I’m not sure who leads them is even worthy of debate among real farmers

Why appeal to the collective not to turn this thread into an NFU debate…… then insult them in the same post? :scratchhead:

Before you all get too excited I’ve heard a whisper of who Blenkys replacement is.
It will come as no surprise that it is a well known and long established senior NFU member. Possibly hand picked by …….
It’s not that Temple bloke is it?
Thought he disappeared with his tail between his legs about 15 years ago but he seems to have crawled out of the woodwork recently!

A terrorist risk? What from . Dave in his tractor filled with excellent explosive cow sh!t…. I think he has realised those farmers that challenge him ( Clive, warks and ajd) aren’t straw chewing locals but very eloquent and passionate business men
Yes that’s what he said it was putting his family at risk.

There’s a lot of talk of taking down the NFU.

Genuine question though - replace it with what? There’s no doubt that we need a member led union who will actually stand up for our interests, but who’s going to step up and how do you stop it becoming another unwieldy gravy train?
