Also those lawn mower engined, 2 wheeled, strimmer jobbies are an ideal addition to the armoury. Driven or push. Their heads run multiple, larger & wider diameter cord, and so can really whack it down 👍

At the weenie end of the scale, a new strimmer! Honda UMK435E.

I’ve fancied a 4-stroke strimmer for ages… and after my father borrowed my Husqvarna for ONE BLOODY DAY and melted the piston, I thought I would treat myself. It runs off the smell of an oily rag!

Hopefully being a Honda it will be ok. On the other hand I bought a Makita a few years back, absolutely pathetic. Went back to the dealer after it continually cut out, new coil, apparently, just as bad. Given up with it, it’s hung prominently in a small building on the yard, maybe a pikey will take it! Fffing useless.

I got a Hikoki battery one, power/battery hungry but very impressed I only got it because my Hikoki hedge trimmer is so good.

After preaching the benefits of no frills combines. I’ve turned all hypocritical and gone for the smarter option and sent the Indian machine back and bought the European machine. Heading for bankruptcy no doubt but at least heading there in style.

I have the twin handle version of the 425. Honda garden equipment just oozes quality and it runs like a sewing machine. I'm just wary of the little crank case only holding 80ml of oil so I intend to change it probably twice a year. I've not put the blade on mine as all I strim is grass and nettles really.
