Bloody right, -2 when I hit the A1 back of five this morning. Won't do grass growth any favours. Although I was thinking about how @Electricfencer, @JSmith and our other southern correspondents are bothered with struck sheep currently. You can't win!
Very cold today , coldest day of the lot i would say, hopefully this is the end of it, supposed to be 15 tmrw and i always know when its 15 cos i take my leggins off.
Currently t shirt, jumper, zip up fleece, body warmer, flexothane jacket, not great for almost may!
But if its cold again tmrw i will report as such👌

Just a shirt today while dagging those ewes in a shed, outside you want your fleece on, the heats gone off these last few days, we need rain down here it’s bloody dry now!! The ewes with grubs were clarity through grass but plenty clean ewes struck aswell, glad I did them today an not left them a couple of days or they would of been a mess 😩

Still buffering our cows with hay, could do with rain too get it shooting up then can start the rotation. Going too try block grazing the suckler herd this time. Got it all planned, probably all fall too crap. 😂

If you don’t give it a go you won’t know, the one herd I have come home to the same field every night an graze a different field in the day for maybe three days or so an rotate around different fields, I split some up with electric aswell to try an generate a bit of grass!! I wouldn’t worry about following some experts system, do something that works for you an your system!! Works for me an my farm, an that’s what matters!!

they want out of spec in markets , yellow 50+kg tight skins , a blue 45kg lamb always sold at a discount live , they wont bid up for export/ supermarket lamb
You couldn’t buy 45 kilo hoggs and feed them to 50 without costing you money
In all fairness once they are fit even 36 kilos at £3 a kilo is better than those heavies
Any stores bought £100 or over are no good unless fed on something cheap
