Dunbia only put ours up 15p. There is usually a 10p difference between our Dunbia collection centre and what folk put on here every week. What a great firm to deal with dunbia are.
Sent some lambs on tuesday and the payment slip has come through tonight with the lambs 20 p per kg dearer than was agreed.
These abbatoirs must be a lot more honest than some folk on here would have us believe
Some may deliver straight in, some from collection centres hundreds of miles away, some slaughterhouses will pay full haulage and others pay half or none Hence why price variations. I pay haulage on two thirds of mine. Works out 17p/kg.Dunbia only put ours up 15p. There is usually a 10p difference between our Dunbia collection centre and what folk put on here every week.
Not a prediction but we have sorted old ewes and sold them ,sold 40 best lambs at 40kg,£125,any predictions on Monday? Will this weeks good trade and high numbers out mean lower demand? Or because prices were so high orders weren’t filled and plenty hungry for more?
£7 comission. £6 haulage in and out (£3x2). Grazing 70per head per week x 32 weeks £22. Say £40 to run then 8 months. £28/hd for a low labour enterprise? Ill go and get my popcorn nowThat’s not a bad return. Decent gimmering Suffolk mule ewe lambs were £110 in back end. How much more do people want for grazing, 2 x wormer, a dip and £1.50 to shear?!

What do you reckon decent round bale hay is off the field ?That's not good !!
Comment was slightly 'tongue in cheek' really . We are very lucky round here plenty of grass and decent crops but the grass will soon go now . ....is this hay gonna be worth anything ?
Baling some today I would happily sell off the field to save hauling it back ......but not much trade
Was wanting to sell some off the field today to save me hauling it through town but the best offer I got was £15 a bale so I said forget it !What do you reckon decent round bale hay is off the field ?
